1 giant onion (or 2 large onions) 大洋葱
4 scallions, sliced (be sure to add the white ends to the soup -- they have extra healing properties) 葱
3 celery stalks, sliced 香芹
12 large garlic cloves, smashed 蒜泥
4 large sticks of wakame seaweed (you can use whatever seaweed you have, or omit this) 紫菜
1 qt chicken bone broth 鸡骨汤
3 cups water 水
1 lb. boneless chicken thighs, cut into 1-in pieces 鸡大腿
salt and pepper, to taste 盐和胡椒
1 cup small pasta (I used grain-free chickpea shells) 意大利面
Put all of the ingredients, except the pasta, into your slow cooker.
Cook on high for 4-hours.
Add pasta and cook or set to sauté function for an additional 15 mins or until the pasta is cooked al dente.
NOTE: This soup can easily be made on top of the stove if you prefer. Follow the directions above, but you will probably only need to cook the soup for about 1-1/2 hours. Then add the pasta until cooked al dente.
