Herbal Poached Shimeji Mushrooms
Five Seasons TCM Better Than Coffee Tonic Bag
1 packet Shimeji mushrooms, washed and separated
1 tbsp soy sauce
Fresh ground pepper to taste
1 tsp maple syrup
1 tsp black and white sesame seeds
1 tsp sesame oil
Boil 2 cups of water in a pot with Five Seasons TCM Better Than Coffee Tonic Bag.
Add mushrooms, soy sauce, black pepper, and maple syrup.
Let simmer for 5 minutes until mushrooms are tender. Taste and adjust seasoning.
Remove mushrooms with a slotted spoon. Top with sesame seeds and sesame oil to serve.
The poaching broth can be saved to poach vegetables and tofu or added to soups and broth for an umami kick!
