We are almost never happy with store bought granola that are hard and usually way too sweet. This is our take on this classic breakfast item. With the addition of goji, sesame oil and seeds, and ginger, this granola not only tastes amazing, but also contains TCM wisdom and benefits. Freshly backed granola is always better! It is super easy to make. Enjoy!

Rolled oats, 2 cups 燕麦
Black sesame seeds, 2 tbsp 黑芝麻
Chopped walnuts, ⅓ cup 碎核桃
Five spice powder, 2tsp (or cinnamon) 五香粉
Brown sugar, 2 tbsp or to taste 黑糖
Sesame oil, 2 tbsp 芝麻油
Natural butter or plant-based butter, melted and enough to coat everything lightly 天然或植物黄油
1/4 cup chopped jujube dates 红枣
1/4 cup chopped goji berry 枸杞
Preheat the oven to 350 (F) degrees.
Spread dry oats over a baking sheet.
Mix all ingredients except for jujube and goji with your hands until well combined. Make sure the mix is evenly spread.
Place in the oven and bake until golden brown in color in about 20 minutes. (Give the mix a flip/stir mid-way!) This can burn easily so keep an eye on it.
